“A Marked Woman” a narrative fiction is based on a true story of Naomi Bryar’s life during the Great Depression, World War II and beyond has hit the paperback market. It is available as E-book on Amazon.com for $2.99. It is an easy read and page turner according to Cynda Thomas, author of He Came From the Sky; Hell of a Ride and her latest book The Wasp and the Hornet.
A book signing was held at Barnes and Noble Book Store in Palmdale, California on March 7th of this year and was well received. An introduction and signing took place on March 11th at the Rancho Mirage Library held by The Palm Springs Writers Guild. Plans for a book signing in Tulsa Oklahoma on May 9th did not come to fruition. Additional book signings are being set up in Southern California and across the U.S.
This is the fourth book Joan Foor MN, RN has had published. Her first book was a memoir and book of poetry titled Homeward Journey, (I Universe), 2003. It can be purchased through The Huntington Disease website, hdsa.org or at any book store. It’s Tough Growing Up, (Tate Publishing) 1st edition in 2009; It’s Tough Growing Up, (Creative House Kids Press), 2011 which she co-authored with Marilyn Dalrymple.
Joan obtained a Master’s Degree in Nursing at UCLA. She worked for Kaiser Permanente for 38 years holding positions in Pediatrics, Nurse Education and administration. Upon retirement taught at The University of California, Bakersfield and for The Antelope Valley College, Lancaster, California.
She is an active member of the Palm Springs Writers Guild, Military Officers Association and The Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks, USA and the Palm Springs Women’s Golf Club. She cares for two rescue cats and a terrier dog and transports them between her summer home in the Palmdale Hills, California and winter home in Cathedral City California. Her hobbies are golf, gardening, traveling bicycling and writing.
